NIBTrust

The NIB Trust Fund accepts applications for funding for programs aimed at education, healing and reconciliation, and cultural knowledge building. The goal of the NIB Trust Fund is to help First Nations, Métis people and communities address the impacts of the Indian residential school's system, and to provide resourcing to create meaningful opportunities that improve the quality of life for First Nations and Métis people.

How to Apply

Individual Applications

The Individual Call for Applications is now closed.

The NIB Trust Fund is no longer accepting applications for funding from individuals for the 2022-2023 year. Funding decisions were published in late September 2022.

The application deadline was June 3, 2022, 5:00 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).

Individual Applications are Closed

Applications for individuals opens in April and closes in early June.

Group Applications

The Group/Organization Call for Applications is now closed.

The application deadline was January 13, 2023, at 5:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time).

**Applications are currently being assessed and will be released end of March.

Group Applications are Closed

Applications for groups open in November and close in early January.

Only complete applications will move forward to the Selection Committee for consideration. The NIB Trust Fund application is a competition-based application. The funds from the NIB Trust Fund are not guaranteed upon application, the process is highly competitive and not all applicants will receive funding.
